This skull comes from one of the beloved cows raised by my husband’s Oma — a gentle old girl who lived her whole life roaming the pasture and passed away peacefully on the land she knew. Painting her skull felt like a way to honor both her life and the family she belonged to.
I chose a countryside scene with a small cabin tucked into the hills and a river winding through it, a quiet ode to the Hill Country we love so much. The landscape is meant to feel like a memory: warm, familiar, and full of the kind of beauty you only notice when you slow down.
This piece carries a little bit of heritage, a little bit of home, and a whole lot of heart — blending my husband’s German roots, his Oma’s legacy, and the joy I find in giving new life to something once part of the land.
KnochenKunst is a German word that translates to “Bone Art,” and it captures exactly what this little studio is all about — transforming natural remains into meaningful, hand‑painted pieces of art.
The name is also a nod to my husband, who is German, and a way to weave a piece of his heritage into the artwork I so genuinely love creating. Every skull I paint is a blend of our worlds: his roots, my creativity, and the shared joy of turning something wild and weathered into something beautiful and intentional.
At KnochenKunst Co., each piece is crafted with care, character, and a whole lot of heart — rustic, artistic, and deeply personal.
I’m always happy to create custom pieces tailored to your style, colors, or meaningful story. If you’re interested in commissioning a one‑of‑a‑kind skull or antler artwork, please send your inquiry to knochenkunstco@outlook.com and we can start dreaming up something special together.

This little studio is built on creativity, heritage, and a whole lot of joy, and I’m always excited to share that with someone who appreciates the art as much as I love making it.

Bright orange and deep green brought this deer skull to life, paired with two small preserved monstera leaves set into the backboard for a bold, modern‑rustic finish. This buck was harvested locally years ago by my husband, making it a meaningful piece to revisit and reimagine. I created this artwork specifically for the SCI Auction — a blend of personal history, vibrant color, and a little nod to the wild places we love.

The small portion of skull is adorned with hand‑placed gems and delicate gold leaf, adding a touch of refined shimmer to the natural form. This deer was locally sourced, making the piece not just art, but a little piece of home. Bold, detailed, and thoughtfully crafted, it’s a modern take on rustic decor with a hint of luxury woven in.
This set of satin‑blue antlers is currently available and on display at a friend’s boutique, adding a pop of color and a touch of luxury to their space until it finds its forever home.
